me singing "Careless Whisper" by George Michael - cover Posted by: TwinMillMC
Video duration: 292 seconds another quickie... some karaoke music from the tube and me singing behind my camera. Did a double vocal on this one because it was hard to get a good vocal level on the 1st alone. Sorry for the bad sound quality and messed up lyrics, etc. These videos r just feelers - gonna do more pro sounding stuff soon. Thanks for listening! I can tell you that the 2001+ specs were 70 watts at 8 ohms. I don't remember exactly about the 2002's but I would assume 100 watts at 8? ohms.

yeah... these tweeters happened to be available just at the right time with a "buy it now" price. So it's great that I just caught them at the right time. I was told that? putting two 16uf caps would make a 8uf value? Anyway, SpeakerFreak95 sent me the link to Parts-Express where they sell the right caps for this. thanx!

It sucks when you find an exact replacement for a vintage equipment on Ebay you? get outbidded. Glad you were able to find an exact replacement. As for the crossover, you can get two 4uf @ 50v or greater bi-polar caps and parallel them to get your 8uf you need.

Yes, I? know that now. Thanks!

True! It was pretty amazing because these speakers are about 35 years old and the individual parts hardly ever come up on eBay or anywhere for that matter. Yeah,? I have a few surprises in my next few vids... Your last video - I was a rolling! LOL

It's amazing what you can find on? ebay! Are you making any other video's, like before?

Don't forget you can use 2 x 16uF regulator electrolytics and connect the negative ends together and you end up with an 8uF bi-polar cap - works just as? well

I haven't worked w/caps in speakers but most caps have a +/- 20% tolerance ie: a 8 MFD cap can run 6.4 MFD-9.6 MFD, likewise the 10 MFD caps can run 8.0 MFD-12.0 MFD. I don't think that there would be much difference, but again I haven't had experience? with speaker values. If I had the opportunity, I'd like to experiment to find out.

ten rather than eight can let too much lows inter the tweeters and horn, thus lessening the life span or simply make? them too "bright" .

Thanks anyway, I know? what you mean - I'm certainly no pro... LOL

OK thanks much! SpeakerFreak95 just sent me a link to a place that sells exact value cap replacements, so I'll check on that, but if I can't find them there I'll look into the? 10mf ones at Radio Shack. Question; to the best of your knowledge, could the 10mf damage these tweeters? SpeakerFreak95 said they might. Sorry, just picking everyone's brain for info : ) I appreciate it!

Easy enough to find. Order 10MFD 50v bipolar caps from Radio Shack - less that $3 apiece in their catalogue. 10MFD is close enough. Hope that helps!?
