Ed has been around trains and the program for almost is? whole life and there is no way in HELL Ed wants to shut the thing down. Hush up. Now yeah Doyle is a great guy and I personally believe he has really out done himself with the 4449. But that doesnt mean the UP Steam program needs him. UP Steam is doing just fine. So don't even.

There are a million videos of BNSF GEs out there. They don't look much different from a steam locomotive? cab (other than the fact you couldn't see much of them due to the shroud of steam we were in). When that "race" took place I was helping the rest of the crew look for signals since we were running on an approach. We weren't really sure if KCT Traffic Control had us lined on over to the west or not.

You missed the "race" between the BNSF auto and the 844! Bummer. That was the best part! I got a great shot standing atop the freight house bridge as both trains passed under me. Nice cab ride video man. By the way, I love the "I am not Steve? Lee" pin!

Yeah, it gets pretty loud, I don't side with the NIMBYs when it comes to horn bans, but I can see where they're coming from. I'd personally deal with it, but hey, if they want to put their fellow ignorant ass citizens at risk by not blowing the horn every time, fine by me. When a half dozen people get killed through there in the next year, it's not like? the statistics didn't tell them that would happen 2 years ago when this work started.

BNSF and Daylight SP 4449 in Wisconsin and Illinois

BNSF Trains in Wisconsin and the SP 4449 in Illinois on the BNSF Aurora Sub. This is the first time I'd ever seen the Daylight GS-4 4-8-4, and I never imagined I'd be able to see it in the Midwest. Thanks to all the groups who made it happen. It was a fun chase. The stack train at the beginning was also headed by the first ES44C4 that I've seen in person.
