My 1995 Nissan Hardbody beater with a KA24 4 banger & a Flowmaster 40 series. No cat, single inlet dual outlet dumped at the rear axle. Way too loud. Im taking it to the muffler shop to have it swapped for a factory style muffler & tailpipe. These trucks are too short for dumped exhaust. The exhaust drone at 2k rpm will rattle your teeth.

2001 Dodge Ram 5.9 with a dual inlet-dual outlet 70 series flowmaster, no cat(s) & a worn out 46RE. This is with the windows down. Some folks wanted to hear what it sounded like. I like it. Its quite when your just putting around & loud when you stomp it. Pipe is 2 1/2" & the exhaust is dumped at the rear axle.

2001 Dodge Ram 0-85

Here it is. I figured what the hell. My 71' F-100 Sport Custom with a little 302 & full straights. No mufflers, no nothing. Factory manifolds. 2 1/2" pipe & 3.5"x24" echo tips. Im not keeping it this way. Im pulling the motor this winter for a rebuild so why not make some noise untill then. For some reason, straight pipes sounded alot better when I was in highschool.....

Thanks bud. The motor is bone stock from the points dizzy to the 2 bbl. carb. Never been pulled or rebuilt & the cam is factory. Only thing? aftermarket on the motor is the exhaust.

So just found out mine is an F100 too! Feel like a noob but I was always told it was an F150 (just recently got it). The original 3 speed was wore out and repaired by my father many times and it just couldn't handle it anymore. I noticed he? put a 4 speed in it, but not sure what it is. Have to get a custom drive shaft for it though, but cheaper than a trani. Hope my truck looks as good as yours one day.

Dodge ram pulls a S-10

I got my beater S-10 stuck while fishin'. So we had to inlist the help of my Power-ram. The S-10 was just spinning in the slick mud. Its not like it was up to the frame or anything. Regardless, my Dodge pulled it out & up a hill idling. 4.56 gears are the bomb.

Hey hows it goin? It has the 5.9 in it. Has 111k miles on it now with no major problems. I have put a new fuel pump on it & also a new water pump & fan clutch. Thats it. Gets 12mpg religiously. Buddy of mine has the same truck but with a 5.2 5 speed. All I can say is I wish mine? was a 5 speed.

3:73's to 4:10's isint really that much of a jump. It all depends on what you use your truck for & how you drive. The lower gears are better for? your drivetrain, as they make it easier for the motor/tranny to deliver power to the ground, but they kill your mileage.. You just have to find a happy medium.

1971 F-100 New exhaust

The new exhaust on my 71' Sport Custom. Mufflers are the same (magnaflows), but the pipe is up from 2 1/4" to 2 1/2". Also had new doughnut gaskets put on & new chrome "echo tips" 3.5"/22". Sounds alot better now. Check out the smoke! 38 year old 302. Looks like its time for a re-build....

Ok, in this video,? it's new 2.5" pipe, the same magnaflow mufflers from the other video, & echo tips. The echo tips are 3.5"dia. by 22" long. My factory manifolds are rusted out around the collector flange (common on 302's of this vintage) so I have to use "doughnut" gaskets to seal the collector flange to the exhaust pipe. Quite common. Any muffler shop will have these on hand for older vehicles. Newer vehicles use a ball & socket style connection & dont require these gaskets.

I love even my crusty old 360fe but the good ol growl of the 302 is very nice. I ended up going with 2.5 pipe from stock manifolds to just shy of the diff into a dual inlet 1010 muffler with a 3 inch pipe that is all of 2.5 ft long. basically it works out like a crossover pipe but I only need one muffler and I can run 2 gas tanks again. The sound is very mellow and sounds only a bit more aggressive than a stock exhaust unless my foot gets close to the firewall, then it gets? loud, but no drone :)

Well, im saying its easy to run true dauls because the truck has 2 cats on it. Meaning you dont have to alter the cats to run the duals. You could run it straight off the? cat(s) without a muffler, but be advised, it will be VERY loud. These LS series engines are loud SOB's when you un-cork them. Have fun!

lol. I would if I could. This was my friends truck. He sold it a couple of weeks after I posted this video. These trucks have factory dual cats on them, one on the left bank one on the right bank making it very easy to run true dual exhaust. If you want it to crackle, just run true duals & low restriction mufflers of your choice. Reflection mufflers, or "chambered"? mufflers (like flowmasters) will always crackle more than absorption mufflers (like a magnaflow).

The cluster will loose power. I dont remember exactly. He said he had to take it in & they put a new cluster in the truck under the TSB. I hear ya on the paid off? part. Its nice not making a payment every month.

My 2005 GMC 1500 tranny also went out at 74,500 miles. Luckily, I had a 75,000 mile extended warranty and they covered it. What's this about the TSB on the guages? My oil-pressure guage goes a little wacky every now and then and I want to fix it. Anyone know how many MPG's I could gain by installing a FlowMaster single or dual exhaust on my truck? I have the 5.3 engine. I'm not gonna give up my great? truck now that I've paid it off and I'm trying to get as many mpg's as I can! Thanks

I got an 01 chevy silverado,I had the duals put on,and within 3 years they rusted apart ,the whole thing fell off.I going to try magnaflow now.Even though flowmaster sounds better.Someone told me if you use ethanol? gas,it makes rust on the inside.Is this true anybody?

wow at the S10.! I know someone that has a Suburban with 350k that JUST started having? tranny issues. So i guess their picky! In my sierra it started as the torque converter going then just one night it just made a LOUD popping noise, and it was like i was in neutral.

Pulling the truck back in the shop after a cold, but dry, Saturday drive. The wind was blowing as usual, sorry about the noise. The truck is my granpas truck he bought new in 1971 & gave to me in 1994. The truck had a frame off restoration in 1994. All original 302 (minus exhaust), & original 3 speed.

Great looking truck! Great sounding too with the magnaflows and the Cragers are a perfect touch. I used to drive a '66 Galaxie with a bone-stock 352, straight pipes and a heavy foot. My neighbors still celebrate the day I sold it. Now I'm working on a '70 F250 which will probably have mufflers... but only? just. Keep that truck shiny side up and have fun.

Thanks alot. It was repainted in 1994 & its starting to show its age. The hood needs repainting bad. Its starting to? peel & crack. But, thats what "to-do" lists are for!

Hey bud. Nope I didn't do anything? to it to make it twist. That's just good old-fashioned American torque. These old trucks use stiff motor mounts that don't absorb alot of momentum produced from the engine. The stiff motor mounts allow the momentum of the eingine to be transferred to the frame & in turn, create the twisting you see here. Now go get that Ford running & post up a vid when you get done!

Awsome man. Good luck on your Merc. You can get the mufflers at most parts stores. I ordered them from summit ALONG? time ago when Magnaflow first came out. They were around $50 bucks each back then. This Exhaust system was 10+ years old when I filmed this. I just parted out a 73 Montego myself. I wanted to save it but it had been sitting for years & it was rotted to the core. I did keep the 351C / C4 & the 9" rear. Good luck on your car. They were neat old rides.

MagnaFlow part #11226. $72 bucks each at Summit racing. These mufflers were 10 years old when I filmed this. The truck is running straight pipe as of right now. 40 series Flowmasters are in? the shop waiting to be installed. Personally, I like the sound of Flowmaster mufflers. If you want glass packs get them & save some money over the magnaflows because in all honesty, I think the magnaflows sound just like a 30" glasspack.

Yup, its bone stock. Hell even the points are 20+ years old. As for wheels, got to Summit or your choice of vendor & look for wheels with the 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern. In some cases it limits your choices, but most of the big names still carry that size. I have always liked the Cragar S/S mags & the Keystone mags. The? choice is yours!

Thanks man. Speaking of that, I have a 351C in my shop right now. I was going to put it in my truck, but I? decided to keep it original. Do you have any issues with the oiling system on the Cleveland?? Seems alot of hot rodders do.
