I'm sure that these inmates understand that truth and irony interplay here "They don't really care about us" applies to the? lower class toughs, the innocent, the drug dealers who realize the toll their former customers have wreaked on society and their own families as well as themselves, and the murderers who have begun to genuinely mourn the deaths of their victims and society/
