A theist looks at the facts they see and says in faith "God exists", and atheist looks at? the facts they see and says in faith, "God does not exist". An agnostic looks at the facts, sees the paradox of how there will never be enough "facts" to prove or disprove the existence of God and says, "I can not determine if God exists". Can we be wrong when interpreting scripture and can scripture be used for justifying horrible behavior? Yes it can.? All of this at the same time does not prove or disprove the existence of God. To say God does not exist takes the same level of? faith to say that he does. The only purely logical form of understanding spirituality is agnosticism.

However, to say that everything about the gospel is false is to miss the argumentative points of the apostles. Now Acts is a purely historical document about what Luke? saw with his journey with Paul. Acts should be taken literally as a journalistic account, the only book in the bible in which it is appropriate to do so. Again, like any journalistic piece, the author's perspective should be taken into account. You actually do pick and choose which verses are literal, but its done with good sense

That's not necessarily true if the particular book is studied with a literary analysis. The gospels were written like thesis. John makes a statement "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" and the rest of his work is an argument on how he believes Jesus (a real person) was a divine being. Matthew argues in his thesis about how Jesus? fulfills Jewish prophecy. Now these are facts about a real person (truth) that are being used to prove a point (subjective)

If you take any? part of the bible literal you have to take ALL of it as literal. There is no picking or choosing.

There is no need to try and refute claims that insects and sea life survived. The bible very CLEARLY states that? he killed everyone and everything not on the ark. Genesis 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was on the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: And Noah ONLY remained alive, and they that were WITH HIM in the ark. I'm pretty sure the fish & sea creatures missed the trip.
