This is not to replace a professional camera. It complements someone who owns a good quality DSLR and want more of a pocket camera that takes the best possible pictures. If someone showed up with this? camera to shoot my wedding, i would turn him around too :-)

This is a great camera, no doubt. But I hear people often? asking about which "compact professional camera" they should buy. I'm not a professional. Photography is only a serious hobby, but I know enough that if I actually hired a "professional" and he showed up on my special day pulling one of these out of his back pocket, I would laugh and send him home.

The X10 is proving to be a great little camera for me, with excellent resolution from the lens and sensor, which together with the Fuji colours and? tones, make for very high image quality. The commentary on this video appears to be a rather clunky translation from something more poetic in Japanese, but gets the facts across. I've yet to see any good videos shot with an X10, so I think Fuji could do with giving them out to film-makers to play with. It does shoot 1080p after all.

The X10 has f2/f2.8 so its better lens than the LX5 as its a f2/f3.3. Also the sensor size makes a difference as its approx 2x larger than the LX5. Both? those combination with a 7 blade aperture on the X10 can offer very nice shallow depth of field as well as good "bokeh". You will see it in Super Macro mode the quality of the "bokeh". Also, highspeed shooting at 7fps full resolution vs only 2-3fps on the LX5. Also build quality on X10 is much higher and of course the styling of the camera.

I live in Belgium and in Belgium the LX5 is about 350 and 400?, and the x10 is 650?. And when I wrote my last comment, I didn't check if it was a? f/1.8 or a f/2 lens and you were right, but f/2 is much better than f/2.8. And about the other specs that you mentioned, the manual zoom lens is the only the 'valid' or 'important' spec. For my part, I have a Nikon P7100 so I wont say anymore if the LX5 or the X10 is the best. The look of the camera is also important and they have both a nice look.

What about the sensor size on the LX5? Is it 2/3" or smaller. We need to compare Apples to Apples. Does it also offer? Full HD video, an OVF, Magnesium Alloy, Machined Metal Dials,Manual Zoom lens. Isn't the LX5 f2/f3.3 anyways?

In good studio lighting, most cameras will do well with video. As for control, 60d wins as it offers full manual and is much better for professional video recording. APS-C sensor vs 2/3" .? Not really a fair comparision

I doubt the fujiguys will answer that one. The huge choice of Canon lenses and accessories, should be considered if you want to do? serious videography. However, the portability of this one is a plus. It reminds me a bit of my Nikon Coolpix 5000 in size.

No. ? iPhone uses CMOS sensor, by default, it is better low-light and DR (but that is compared to the old sensor it used in the iPhone 4). The X10 uses a CMOS sensor (which has better low-light and DR) but also adds the EXR Pixel Array. A EXR Processor is used to configure the sensor to different settings to achieve better Lowlight or DR (Automatic via EXr, or you can manually set it). But for iPhone 4s, no, it does not use EXR.

X100 has an APS-C size image sensor. ? The X10 uses a 2/3" CMOS sensor. The low light capabilities of the X100 will be of course better than the X10. The X10 offers versatility however with it's 4x manual zooming lens, Full HD video recording, and slightly smaller size. Build quality however on both cameras are identical. Once you pickup the camera, you can understand why the pricing. X10 has better lowlight than most premium P&S but via the EXR mode.

Hello! Could anyone please tell me the difference between? the x10 and the x100?Is the x10 a more compact version of the x100? I just need a camera that's good for taking photos in low light conditions and in situations where flash cannot be used. I'm not experienced in photography but I do like taking photos of people and landscapes.

This would be a great camera. IQ is very good. To create a shallow depth of field, i shot at wide? open f2.8 and between 80 and 112mm most of the time.

basically I want a camera I can take overseas rather than the two DSLRs I? own. Not sure about the X100 mainly because of the fixed focal. Most of the shots I will take will be family and landscape, buildings, not so much street photography
