This is what's wrong with popular music today. They people that can't sing are preforming and writing the music, while those who are inspired enough to wright music are cast in the shadows because they don;t have a good voice. Thank you Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen for? being one of the few to break that cycle (I'm not saying that Jeff Buckley can't wright or Leonard Cohan can't sing)

Well, you're being corrected because this was written by a man named Cohen, and so- this is a cover. Cover "in words you will understand", Person A writes lyrics, person B sings it himself, maybe changes the words or the chords a? bit, adds a bit of this and that and BAM !!! You have a new version, also called a "cover-version".
