Neil English refers to this scope in his dob book but he says? it's 50 inch. Anyway, what's 5 inches - it's still pretty big.

Yes, Lightbridge has great optical quality, and equatorial platform will open? the possibility of planet photography.
By: gronki1. on 05 Oct 11, 23:49:59
I consider buying Lightbridge 12 for viewing and planet photography using the equatorial platform, do you think this is the right choice??

He says the truth. Well... I didn't found 55 inch yet BUT I found an 50 inch! Look? under 'astroshop' (the english version) under the category 'telescopes' for newton reflector. After this select under 'aperture' >254 mm and skip to page 6. Then you should find the telescope 'Orion Dobson telescope N 1270/4765 Monster 50 DOB' . Hope you could find it. I don't know if posting URLs is allowed so I didn't posted for safety. If it's allowed, please tell me!

By: Goalatio. on 01 Nov 10, 00:17:32
Yep, 55 inches..? They'll only build it if you order it too, and it costs $40,000.
By: NevadaWrangler. on 29 Oct 10, 17:59:17
I like these reflectors better than the older tube scopes....I did have a Meade 16'' dobsonian and? it was a pain in the ass to both move and maneuver....when pointed at the zenith i'd need at least a milk crate to view it.....awesome power but not practical, but these truss scopes are much better in my opinion.
By: CumputerPhysiscsLab. on 07 Oct 10, 15:26:35
When pointing to zenith, it is the highest position for the eyepiece, and it matches perfectly my eyes in standing up position. When pointing at 45 degrees, you may need to sit down on a chair. A? ladder is never required, except for the kids.
By: Neutrinoghost. on 07 Oct 10, 02:58:14
How high is the eyepiece from the? floor? Do you need a step ladder?

Yes,? that question has been answered 50 times already.

NO earth based telescope can view? as small objects as the ones you're talking about. Not even the LBT, let alone consumer telescopes.
By: grimtango5280. on 14 Sep 10, 18:54:41
No they dont. Max in the? Orion Monster Dob series is 50".
By: CumputerPhysiscsLab. on 22 Aug 10, 17:20:57
55 inches,? are you sure?
By: robotmonkey73. on 18 Aug 10, 22:45:06
Assuming perfect conditions you would need a telescope more than 3.5 miles in diameter, with? some sort of ability to move individual parts of the mirror (like a honeycomb design, this has been done) to counter the effects of an atmosphere. I have often wondered about the construction of such a telescope....
By: monimstarfox. on 08 Aug 10, 07:50:43
wow its more portable than? i thought
By: IcechickenSr. on 03 Jul 10, 16:38:55
and thats a smokin deal at that price too, I mean to think you're getting 16" of raw Aperature, and ultra portable to boot! The? views blow your socks off, you can make out somecool colors too.
By: IcechickenSr. on 03 Jul 10, 16:36:33
Show us the motors and auto guiding slewing the telescope around...oh thats right it dosn't have any? of that cool stuff :( LOL. I love the new style versions of these in full out GOTO configuration. I'm glad I waited as I'm ordering the GOTO version. Many i've talked with though still prefer this version shown here better. You've got a nice pice of kit mate. Cheers, IC.

First off why would you write 'LOL' ? Second off? it must be so awesome to be you.
By: hiian123. on 10 Jun 10, 20:25:34
lol fist off the size telescopewould have to be huge to get the? detail needed second off the atmosphere only allows about 250 magnification on a subtle night!
