I hate when people say this. CGI is far more realistic and visually superior. It allows filmmakers to film scenes that would be much more difficult and less convincing without it. I don't understand why some people dislike CGI. It's more than just eye candy. It's? as much of an art form as traditional methods if not more, considering the amount of detail put into it.

to re-make is terribly uncreative. Why remake soehing as good as this ? Prometheus is much better than a remake, it's a prequel. I can understand remaking or retelling? something from the forties or fifties but Alien is a modern classic. Look what happened to "the Fog" , "Psycho" ect, it doesn't work. LittleLeeHere, It was great. I was 16 and I worked in the Sunrise Mall (Massapequa, New York) movie theaters in the summer of 1986 as an Usher. The length of ALIENS required a skeleton crew of 2 ushers and a manager to man the theater as it ran until 12:30. I think I saw that film( as well as letting in hundreds of late night friends) for at least? 3 weeks in a row.

The 1979 original? was pure genius. They got steadily worse. There's some terrible acting in this movie. Nobody was in it. The original had John Hurt, Tom Skerrit, Harry-Dean Stanton and Sigourney Weaver to name half the cast. Terrible grab for cash off the back of a work of art in my opinion. Peace.

What are you talking about? The Prometheus teaser was very similar to this, complete with the siren and everything, and that was very effective by today's standards. This here is just a teaser as well, and a heck of a lot of? teasers today don't have voice overs.

How times have changed. Back in 1979 a simple but effective trailer like this made people scared and interested at the same time. Would this kind of trailer work today?? Nope. Because today's brainless movie audience want everything spoonfed to them. A deep voice telling the plot, lots of shots of sex, bad jokes and overly dramatic music. There's even some youtube personality who does? "modern version" trailers for classic movies. They are entertaining at least. Highligting our time.

Aliens is a thriller and horror movie? as well. It has elements of many genres but feels scary more than exciting, even more so than an action thriller. So I guess I would call it a horror film. Action and thriller films just aren't as scary or horrifying.
