Thank you so much for this video. Jason seems a lot like my daughter, more so than any child I've seen in ASD-related videos. The animal alphabet from Dora made me tear up, because she used to sing that, too - she did that version before the standard ABC song. :) I wouldn't trade? my daughter for anything in the world. Some of the comments here (and on other ASD videos) are just disturbing. Clearly the statements are made by people without children. I hope so, anyway!

Anyways..........on a lighter note-looks down to the argument below- It is really good to see people will stand up for what they believe in.The cop was 100% right....and in my opinion it is horrid for some one to say it is "bad parenting" when the child has autism. Not all people with autism have higher IQs; that's more of a trait of Aspergers (and high-functioning autism)... Classical autism is usually (not always) accompanied by a lower than "normal" IQ. But, that's why it's most often referred to as? a spectrum - no two people with autism have the exact same set of characteristics... (Note: I'm in no way agreeing with the poster above you.)

I was at a Wendy's getting food a couple years ago and saw a woman in front of me with a boy who had autism. There was also an older man in front of me who chewed out the child after being struck on the arm when he got upset at his mother. She tried to explain to the man that her child was autistic and she normally is able to stop him before he strikes.He went on about his? arm surgery he just recently had. She apologized but he did not care. I would have understood and reacted with respect.
