He's not saying that the short is bad or anything, he's just saying that, from the viewer's perspective, a duck walk and tranquil violin music seems somewhat incongruous. And fairies never? gave peasant girls glass slippers and mermaids never really married princes. This isn't supposed to be a historically accurate essay on how princesses in ancient Scotland acted. I thought the spells and fairies made that obvious. Don't blame the story for your own silly decision to look for historical accuracy in a fun fantasy movie.

I don't think the song was meant to make sense with the trailer. I think it was meant to set the mood of the movie. It is a scottish song and this is a movie set in Scotland. Plus it sounds beautiful and fits really well with the trailer. Don't? try to read too much into the song and just enjoy the trailer :)

They edited the song for the clip. The part they kept is about a girl with "ríbinn/ribíní" hair (ribbony flyaway strands) who's heart is breaking. Then for her to dry her eyes her love is safe. I'm not sure about the plot, but at least that much of the song seems to be fairly applicable as I'm sure the end of the movie will be about some kind of reunion/pax with? her family/mother.

Love the idea of the movie and cannot wait to see it. This song is in Gaelic and I am somewhat confused, since the song is singing? about a girl in love with a sailor who is away on a boat. The people doing the voice overs are all Scottish - there's nothing fake about any of ? them they are just speaking in their regular accent. The singer - Julie Fowlis- is Scotland's Gaelic Ambassador and is NOT singing in Irish but in Scottish Gaelic ( pronounced Gah-lic not Gay-lic as in Irish).
