Well the protocol and network have some rules as to what qualifies as a valid bitcoin block with new coins in it. If you can compute a valid block, then yes by all? means you will reap the block reward of 50 new bitcoins. However this is not an easy task as you're in competition with all the other miners and the difficulty is currently quite high. Regarding being hacked ... yes securing your computer is important if you ever decide to host your own wallet - but alternate arrangements can be done.

For those who aren't watching the video, and simply allowing the audio to play while they did stuff, it would distract them to hear the audio levels and effects shift.
