i live in the affected apartment complex. it was? by no means levelled. we were without power for 6 days, had a carport collapse, couple trees ripped out of the ground, all of the electric poles for a mile or so knocked over. 1 of them hit the apartments, causing minor damage. the quik trip also sufered minor damage to the roof over its gas pumps.

This is great! That roller coaster was even rated by a group of coaster "junkies" as one of? the top 10 wooden frame roller coasters in the country. Very sturdy, but looks it's age, hence part of the scare. I noticed the sign at the top of the first hill is missing, the one that said "stay seated". Brings back a lot of good memories. Joyland Restoration Project is attempting to reopen the park. By the way, the park is way off on the west side of the street on South Hillside, south of Pawnee.

It was rated EF3 and had a multiple vortex structure (at least where I documented damage SW of Spirit Aerosystems). Even though? a portion of Wichita got hit, we were very lucky. If that storm would have tracked ten miles to the west, that tornado would have been on the ground through the heart of the city and I am sure we would have seen many injuries and fatalities. I've been helping out with some of the clean up efforts and taking donations (mainly clothing) to help out storm victims.

Damn. We lived in the mobile court on Meridian south of the union hall and the bypass loop and I heard Pawnee and knew it was the same general area. We got there at McConnell AFB in early 93 and there was still damage evident from the? 91 tornadoes. Glad we decided to head east after I retired in 95.
